Now in Germany – Tyrol: Arrested “Reichsbürger” extradited

Date:

The cook arrested during Germany’s “Reichsbürger” raid on Austria – known as the future father-in-law of a local sports star – was extradited to Germany on Wednesday. The 62-year-old was arrested two weeks ago in Kitzbühel and taken to Innsbruck prison.

The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Karlsruhe started extradition proceedings. According to Hansjörg Mayr, spokesperson for the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office, this has now been approved. The man is suspected of being an accomplice to a terrorist organization. In Tyrol he was taken into custody.

In the large-scale raid on December 7, a total of 25 people were arrested, 23 of them in Germany. 22 prisoners are accused of being members of a terrorist organization that sought to overthrow the political system in Germany. Three other detainees are considered supporters. With the exception of one Russian, all suspects have German nationality.
