The weather remains mild – the sun can be seen during the holiday season in the country

The mild western weather will continue for the next few days. According to the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), changeable weather and temperatures of up to 13 degrees can be expected in the coming days. In the lowlands, the Danube area and in the valleys in the south, however, persistent high fog areas may persist.

Here’s what the weather looks like for the next few days: Sunny weather is often expected on Christmas Day, especially in the western and southern half of the country, away from foggy areas. On the north side of the Alps and in the east, however, there is still a slight disruptive effect, leaving locally dense clouds and some rain.

With the departure of the disturbance to the east, the sun will also temporarily appear here before fog and high fog spread over the flat land in the evening. The wind is weak to moderate from different directions. The morning temperatures are between minus three and plus six degrees, the maximum daytime temperatures between five and thirteen degrees.

The sun can also be seen more often on Saint Stephen’s Day
On Monday, the Stefanitag will bring mostly sunny weather with only high clouds. Over the Danube area, the lowlands in the east and in the valleys and basins in the south, however, a persistent blanket of high fog remains. In the afternoon and evening, more clouds gather in the northwest and it gradually starts to rain in Vorarlberg. Otherwise, the rain will only spread at night. The snow line drops to 1800 to 1500 meters in the evening, at night in Vorarlberg around 1000 meters above sea level. The wind usually blows weakly from different directions, at fault lift it turns to the west and increases. Temperatures rise from minus two to plus five degrees to a maximum of four to twelve degrees.

Tuesday night rain or snow
On Tuesday, after a cold front had moved through the night on the northern side of the Alps, dense clouds continued and it rained or snowed lightly again and again. The snow line is between 600 and 1000 meters. During the day, however, the sun comes out more and more. The wind will blow moderate to strong from westerly directions and gradually decrease during the day. The morning temperatures are around minus three to plus five degrees, the maximum daytime temperatures around plus four to ten degrees.

Heavy high fog fields are expected in the south of the country
On Wednesday, sunshine and cloud fields alternate with westerly upper currents and the influence of high pressure close to the ground. In the lowlands, especially in the south, there are some tricky high fog fields. The wind is blowing weakly from westerly directions. Early temperatures are minus seven to plus one degree, daily highs are one to nine degrees.

Temperatures remain mild
An upper-level west-southwesterly flow will bring mild temperatures on Thursday. Fog fields along the Danube, in Alpine valleys and in southern basins will clear in the morning, otherwise vast, high cloud fields alternate with sunshine. In the afternoon a cold front will approach from the west, which will bring the first showers in Vorarlberg by evening. The wind is weak to moderate and comes from the west to the west in the evening. From minus four to plus five degrees in the morning, the values ​​rise to seven to 13 degrees.
