Due to black ice, a fully occupied car was thrown against the bridge

On the way home in Altmünster was a 21-year-old, her sister (17) and her boyfriend (26). But in front of the bridge over the Aurachbach in Upper Austria, the car suddenly skidded and crashed into the bridge railing. All three occupants of the car were seriously injured.

The 21-year-old from Altmünster drove a car on Christmas Day around 10:30 p.m. on L 544 Großalmlandesstraße from Steinbach am Attersee towards Neukirchen near Altmünster. Her 26-year-old boyfriend and 17-year-old sister were in the vehicle with her. At kilometer 9.6 just before the bridge over the Aurachbach, the driver lost control, probably due to black ice.

Got into a skid
Her vehicle skidded and hit the driver’s side of the bridge railing. All three occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured and the trapped driver had to be freed by the fire service. After emergency medical care, the driver was taken to hospital by the emergency doctor and the other two occupants by the rescue service.
