A woman has been arrested in Venezuela for offering a kidney for sale online: the suspect was arrested after illegally offering a kidney for $20,000 (€18,500) on an online marketplace.
The woman has been arrested in the state of Portuguesa, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William said. The suspect’s offer said the kidney came from a 15-year-old girl and was “in perfect condition”.
It is now being determined whether the woman is part of a “criminal network”. Saab has not provided any information as to whether it was a case of fraud.
