German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck sees Russia heading for military defeat in the war in Ukraine. “No one imagined that the year 2022 would end like this,” said the green politician of the German news agency in Berlin. “Putin is losing this war on the battlefield,” he said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Habeck stressed that Ukraine would receive weapons from the United States, NATO and Europe. The country under attack used them “skillfully and strategically, wisely and heroically”.
Habeck: “There will be more support”
“I am in favor of Germany, together with the Allies, supporting Ukraine so that it can win this war,” said Habeck, who has been advocating arms supplies to Ukraine even before the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. “There will certainly always be new systems and additional support, but these must always be discussed with the Allies.” We have come a long way and the next steps will surely enable further successes for Ukraine.
