Since the start of the Russian offensive war on February 24, Austria has been supporting Ukraine with relief supplies. According to the Interior Ministry, 96 truckloads have been delivered so far. 85 of these went directly to Ukraine, the rest to neighboring countries.
In addition to food, medicines and wound care materials, generators or firefighting vehicles and equipment were also brought to the region. The Austrian relief goods were worth 6.8 million euros.
More than 1100 tons of goods delivered
Austria also supported Ukraine with 230,000 liters of fuel. According to the ministry’s release, the weight of relief supplies delivered so far equates to more than 1,100 tons.
“The relief supplies from Austria are part of our solidarity with the people of Ukraine,” said Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP). “As long as the criminal offensive war continues, relief supplies will be brought from Austria to Ukraine.”
