Search for a two meter long python snake in the Japanese city of Kurashiki. As the Japanese television channel NHK reported Monday, the owner of the ball python, which weighs about two kilograms, had collected the animal by car from a friend who had been monitoring the snake for several days. When the man unloaded his car in the parking lot of his apartment this weekend, he suddenly found that the line had disappeared.
After a fruitless search, he contacted the police. Officials in the city, located about 680 kilometers from Tokyo in western Okayama prefecture, urged residents to exercise caution.
No special permission needed for saving Python
Pythons are not venomous and kill their prey by entangling them. They usually feed on warm-blooded animals such as birds and mammals. All kinds of exotic animals are highly sought after by Japanese collectors. The owner of the ball python kept the animal in a glass box in the apartment. No special permit was required for this, NHK reports.
