On Easter Sunday, there was a devastating accident in the German city of Essen: a car fell 18 meters from the top floor of the parking garage – two teenagers died in the accident. Youth recklessness could be the cause of the drama, according to the management.
The car crashed through the perimeter grid on the top floor around 7:20 p.m. and is said to have hit a tree before hitting a sidewalk. A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old were killed.
„WAggressive driving maneuvers” probably the cause of the accident
It is not yet fully clarified how the accident could have happened. However, the police have a suspicion: “It seems that there have been daring driving maneuvers that led to this serious accident,” a spokesperson told the “Bild”. “The car came to a stop on the pavement in front of the parking garage on the driver’s side. Rescuers found two unresponsive young men in the totally deformed vehicle.
The victims eventually had to be extricated from the wreckage by emergency services. Resuscitation measures were taken on the spot and the seriously injured were taken to a hospital – there the doctors eventually lost the battle to save the young men’s lives.
Relatives collapsed when they saw the wreck
Relatives and friends of the two victims gathered at the scene of the accident in the evening – according to “Bild”, a woman would have collapsed on seeing the wreckage. In the end, she had to be admitted to a hospital.
