On January 14 and 15, 2023, the completely renovated parliament building on the Ringstrasse invites you to visit for the first time.
The parliament is the heart of democracy and impressively reflects Austrian history. After 130 years of operation, the house was extensively renovated to repair structural damage, make it more open, modern and barrier-free, and create a space for contemporary parliamentarianism.
On 14 and 15 January 2023, for the first time, Parliament invites all interested parties to discover the completely renovated building during a guided tour: for example, the National Council Chamber with its imposing glass dome, which brings daylight into the hall for the first time, the new meeting room of the Federal Council and the restored Federal Meeting Room. In addition, the Hoge Huis offers a view of the newly developed upper floor with the publicly accessible restaurant and the four terraces. The “democracy center – experience parliament”, which provides information on parliamentarism and democracy on 1,500 square meters, is a new highlight that is worth a visit.
