Unruly, suspicious – arrest after arson in front of house in Bregenz

While firefighters were putting out the blaze, officers questioned a 43-year-old who had been near the crime scene. The man was drunk and wanted to run – but he couldn’t.

A car was damaged in the fire, but fortunately the flames could be prevented from spreading to a carport and the residential building.

During a people check, objects were also found at the site of the fire. To further clarify the facts, the provisional arrest was pronounced against the 43-year-old.

Escape failed
But the suspect didn’t like that at all. He tried to run away on foot, but tripped and fell. When he was arrested, he defended himself tooth and nail. Finally, the officers took him to the detention room of the Bregenz police station, where further interrogation took place.
