Due to problems when switching providers, it suddenly became dark in the home of a rheumatism patient in Lower Austria – even though he already had a valid contract. Only the “Krone” was able to return light to the darkness.
“You’ve always paid on time all your life – and then all of a sudden you’re without power.” For Wilhelm Blümel from Pottendorf in the Baden district, the turn of the year started with a shock: on Monday, from the blue, his electricity was turned off.
A new provider had to be found
About the background: The man, who had severe rheumatism, was canceled by his electricity supplier in mid-December because he could no longer meet the promised prices. Shortly afterwards, Wiener Netze contacted and advised Blümel to quickly sign a new contract so that the power did not have to be cut off. “I did that at Wien Energie. I even received a written confirmation of the contract.” He had also already signed a SEPA direct debit mandate.
Suddenly it was dark
But despite the content, it was suddenly dark on January 2. Because the contract should not have been reported to Wiener Netze for unknown reasons. Blümel has repeatedly shown patience with the customer hotline, but has not received a satisfactory answer. “The only thing I was told on the phone was that it could take up to six days before I had power again. That would have been crazy, after all I didn’t do anything wrong,” says Blümel, who, after further phone calls to Wiener Netze and e-Control, finally turned to “Krone” in despair.
solution found
Just look: together with Wiener Netze, the problem was solved the next morning. The smart meter has been activated and electricity has been flowing again ever since. Wiener Netze claimed that it had not received registration. “The deregistration is then a normal process,” said a spokeswoman. Wien Energie could not be reached for comment.
