The PGA Tour have made public the departure times and the duets of Tournament of Champions 2023 in Kapalua (Hawaii). Y Jon Rahmthe only Spaniard contesting this elite event, will play in one of the stellar matches of the first day this Thursday: particularly in the penultimate, from 11:35 pm Spanish peninsular time (Movistar Golf live), with Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick. The last two US Open champions will face each other.
Rahm is playing for the sixth time on the island of Maui (he was second in 2022 after an amazing duel with Australian Cameron Smith, in the end one of those who turned away from the Arab Super League).
The last game of this first day consisted of USA duo Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas, ten minutes after Rahm and Fitzpatrick. The attractive pairings for this first day of play are: Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris, Jordan Spieth and Tom Kim, Tony Finau and Collin Morikawa, and Patrick Cantlay and Hideki Matsuyama.
The end of the game for Thursday and Friday is calculated at four in the morning, always Spanish peninsular time, while Saturday and Sunday will end at two in the morning.
The Tournament of Champions has a prize pool of $15 million to be distributed among 39 players, all of whom are 2022 PGA Tour champions and/or 2022 FedEx Cup finalists. Sunday’s winner will receive $2,700,000, the highest number ever.
