A Bengal tiger killed a caretaker at an Indonesian zoo. The accident happened on Sunday while the man was cleaning the big cat’s cage at Serulingmas Wildlife Park on the island of Java, zoo director Lulut Yekti said Monday.
The keeper had fed the tiger before. “Our employee was busy with routine work when the accident happened,” explains Yekti. There were initially no details on how the attack could have happened because there were no eyewitnesses: According to the information, the nurse was alone at the time of the attack.
An investigation should now clarify the circumstances. The park is temporarily closed. The Bengal tiger, also known as the Bengal tiger, is the second largest tiger subspecies.
