At least ten people were injured in a shooting during the recording of a video clip in the US state of Florida on Thursday. According to police, the gunfight took place shortly before 8 p.m. local time in Miami Gardens, about 30 kilometers north of the city of Miami, during the shooting of a video featuring American-Moroccan rapper French Montana.
Several people have been taken to local hospitals, according to police. According to the Miami Herald newspaper, the incident was preceded by a dispute between two groups in front of the restaurant “The Licking”.
Rapper Ced Mogul, who was present at the video taping, told NBC 6 that he “heard at least 13, 14, 15 shots”, that it was “really fast” and that it sounded “like an assault rifle”. According to Ced Mogul, a bystander was attacked on the sidelines of the video recording, after which the attack escalated.
Six people taken to hospitals
The police initially did not provide any further information about the identity of the injured and other details. According to the Miami Herald, six people were hospitalized and four others sought medical attention on their own.
French Montana (pictured below), the main character of the planned music video, real name is Karim Kharbouch. He was born in Morocco and immigrated to New York with his parents as a teenager. He survived a gunshot to the head during a gunfight in the Bronx in 2003.
After releasing his debut album My French in 2013, the now 38-year-old rapper has been nominated three times for the prestigious Grammy Awards, including for his song All The Way Up.
