A 33-year-old speed demon was pulled from traffic in Vienna on Sunday evening after his vehicle touched a parked car while on the run from police. The driver did not have a driver’s license.
Originally, the police officers wanted to stop the driver of the car at the Mariahilfer Belt because he was driving without his lights on. Instead of stopping, the 33-year-old accelerated his car. During the chase, he hit a parked car on Kollmayergasse in the Meidling district and committed a number of other offenses during his escape.
Outstanding fines of 14,000 euros
Eventually, the officers were able to cut the fugitive off at the bus stop in Stefan-Weber Park, forcing him to pull over. He had been arrested. During the check, the officials also found that the man had an outstanding administrative fine of about 14,000 euros. In addition, the right side mirror of the car was missing.
