The former mayor of Scharten and former member of parliament Jürgen Höckner (ÖVP), who was convicted of rape, was sentenced to seven years in prison on November 21, 2022. However, so far it is not yet suitable for “gates”. How long can a prison sentence be delayed?
“According to information from the responsible judge, the convicted person has applied for a stay of sentence for health reasons. A decision can be expected in early February 2023” – with these sober verdicts, the regional court of Wels answered the request of “Krone” or the former ÖVP member of parliament and former mayor of Scharten Jürgen Höckner (56) is actually “already” behind bars.
Hired a new lawyer
After Oliver Plöckinger, his new, now third lawyer is the well-known Linz criminal lawyer Andreas Mauhart. He tells the “Krone”: “We have filed a disability claim for liability. That must now be checked and an expert report will probably also have to be prepared.” Insiders expect Höckner to end up behind bars at the earliest in March.
The first ruling was made in October 2021
As reported, on November 21, 2022, the busy politician was sentenced to seven years behind bars for rape by the Linz Higher Regional Court. Höckner, who always protests his innocence, had spent seven and a half years in Wels in October 2021.
The Supreme Court ruled that the ex-politician should serve half a year less. As a local head, Höckner sexually assaulted an employee twice between 2014 and 2016, raped her three times and – when she finally broke her silence – also slandered her.
