Vortex at the border – Taliban fighters flee to the West

Date:

Afghan fighters who want to infiltrate the EU via Hungary are suspected of being terrorists. They would have pursued extremist plans.

Alarm bells are ringing in the international command centers of the executive branch. Taliban fighters, considered particularly dangerous, are increasingly trying to break through to the West.

“Students” at the limit
They do not stop at the gates of Europe, as those familiar with the Balkan smuggling routes know. Two of the ‘students’, as they call themselves, have now turned up at the border between Serbia and Hungary.

suspicion of terrorism
In both cases known to the authorities, serious allegations have been made and terrorism is suspected. The suspects have long been wanted on the basis of an arrest warrant. The handcuffs clicked for her.

“It is feared that the arrested men have pursued extremist plans. They had guns with them when they fled,” reports a detective. Nothing more can be said about this yet.

Many migrants in Hungary
Meanwhile, the fight against illegal migration continues on both sides of the external borders. While 81,206 refugees were arrested in Burgenland last year, there were 270,000 in Hungary in the same period.

In our eastern neighbours, this is more than twice as many as in 2021. At the same time, 2,500 human traffickers from 70 countries are in Hungarian prisons.

tugboat caught
Police arrested one of the first people smugglers in the new year in Croatia’s Mini Court. The perpetrator fled in a van from soldiers in Nikitsch.

When the tour was stopped, six migrants tried to run away, the remaining seven remained in the hold. Without being able to provide documents, all 13 submitted an oral asylum application.
