There was a lot of bad luck: a fallen man’s snowboard hurtled down the slope in the Ski Juwel in Alpbach and hit a woman further on – with painful consequences.
On Friday around 10 a.m., a 56-year-old German and her 53-year-old partner ski down the Alpbach ski area. After the 56-year-old completed the last steep slope, she waited for her partner, who had stopped at the top of the steep slope in question due to an obviously injured snowboarder.
Snowboard became “independent”
For unknown reasons, the injured man’s snowboard suddenly started moving and after about 250 meters crashed into the 56-year-old with full force. As a result of the impact, she suffered serious injuries (fracture of the femoral neck) and was flown by emergency helicopter to Schwaz hospital.
