A huge bang and clattering shocked residents in the Penzing district Friday evening. There was an explosion in the courtyard of a residential building – the result was a sea of broken glass and a police operation.
Around 10:20 p.m., police received several emergency calls. Callers reported a loud bang near Hütteldorfer Straße. In the courtyard of a residential building, the arriving officers saw the destruction: all the windows were damaged.

Shortly afterwards, police officers discovered a 36-year-old who immediately confessed and admitted causing the massive damage. As he explained, he had just lit a firecracker and thrown it out the window. “He had two other firecrackers with him. The required labels were missing on the objects,” says police spokeswoman Barbara Gass. They were secured.
The 36-year-old has been reported several times on suspicion of serious damage to property and endangering physical safety. He must also take into account several administrative law advertisements.
