A reed depot near Neusiedl am See caught fire on Saturday afternoon due to a defect in one of the harvesting machines. Because the place in the reed belt was difficult to reach, the fire brigade had to use a drone to get an overview. The fire was extinguished after about two hours.

Sunday morning the following operation in Mörbisch: A harvesting machine had caught fire during work on a reed depot. The workers tried to contain the flames with fire extinguishers, but when that failed, they unloaded the machine. The fire service has taken over the after-fire work.
