The Teichtmeister case shocked all of Austria. But the crime figures are also staggering: in 2021 there were more reports of child pornography than ever before! Where does this abyss come from, has the cultural scene been neglected for too long and should action be taken harder? Katia Wagner talks about this with her guests on Wednesday 8:15 PM on krone.tv!
The once celebrated actor Florian Teichtmeister is said to have hoarded 58,000 disgusting photos and videos on his data carriers. His now ex-girlfriend set the case rolling: she discovered a collage of minors from the film set with speech bubbles made of them with explicit content…
Despite rumors, there was no response from the Burgtheater
What is especially shocking is that despite persistent rumors within the industry, he did not have to fear consequences as early as 2021. The Burgtheater, in which the actor was part of the ensemble, was aware of the incidents. Because Teichtmeister denied the allegations and complained about a “revenge act” by his ex, an internal investigation was waived. A frivolous reaction, as the allegations now show.
Child pornography ads hit high!
It is also particularly bitter that the number of reports of child pornography peaked at 1921 in 2021 – probably also because internet use has increased due to the pandemic. According to the federal investigation, the perpetrators are mostly male and between 25 and 40 years old. But more and more young people are also being targeted by the officials: detectives have noticed a strong increase in suspects under the age of 18.
Up to two years in prison for Teichtmeister fair? Wednesday 8.15 pm on krone.tv!
Florian Teichtmeister will in any case have to answer to the court in February. The investigation into his case ran for a year and a half, and now the indictment is available. His lawyer says he will plead guilty. He faces two years in prison.
