Fire alarm Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean Oberland: A fire broke out in the kitchen of a family home in Sautens. The owner and his son fought the flames with a carpet, among other things.
The fire broke out in the kitchen around 11 p.m. Father and son react quickly – and could probably prevent worse.
“The fire was extinguished by the two with a carpet and a powder extinguisher before the alerted Sautens volunteer fire brigade arrived,” the police said.
Defective kettle as the cause?
Investigators suspect the fire started near the boiler. Fortunately no one was injured. Thanks to the rapid intervention, the single-family home is still habitable.
