The discovery of several dead sheep was confirmed from the village of Nölbling on Wednesday morning. It is still unclear how the animals died, but it is suspected that wolves have something to do with it. “A check found about 20 torn and some seriously injured sheep,” said the police in Kötschach-Mauthen. Whether a wolf is actually responsible for the deaths of about two dozen animals in one night has yet to be clarified. Further measures must now be carried out by the responsible authority in the state of Carinthia.
