At around 4:30 p.m., a 28-year-old from Graz drove his van in the municipality of Seiersberg-Pirka on the A2 towards Vienna-Villach. Seeing smoke billowing from the engine compartment, he stopped the vehicle in the hard shoulder. He opened the hood and flames shot out at him.

The man called the fire department. The FF Seiersberg and Unterpremstätten, which were deployed with a total of 38 troops and six vehicles, extinguished the fire. There was property damage of an unknown amount. The cause of the fire may have been a technical defect.
