Sad news from the Innsbruck clinic! An 83-year-old woman died of her serious injuries in a traffic accident in Wörgl. A driver of a package van had overlooked the pedestrian on Tuesday, hit her with his car and dragged her for meters. It was only when passers-by sounded the alarm that he stopped.
It was around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday: a 24-year-old Romanian had reversed a van into a side street in Wörgl that ran parallel to Fritz-Atzl-Strasse. He overlooked the 83-year-old Austrian. The woman was hit by the back of the vehicle and unnoticed was dragged about 16 meters.
Passers-by sounded the alarm
It was only when the driver stopped briefly and drove forward a bit that a passerby drew his attention to the accident. The rescue chain was immediately set in motion. The 83-year-old was eventually taken to the Innsbruck clinic with serious injuries to the head, pelvis and limbs. The doctors there fought in vain for the woman’s life.
