For a particularly difficult operation, the emergency services had to leave Carinthia in the middle of the night. A wrong-way driver crashed her car into a truck on the southbound highway. The driver died at the scene of the accident.
Shortly after 02:30 the sirens are wailing in Krumpendorf and Pörtschach. On the southern highway between Pörtschach and Krumpendorf in the direction of Villach, a wrong-way driver collided head-on with a truck.
Driver died in accident
Despite immediate help from the emergency services, the 48-year-old from Klagenfurt died at the scene of the accident. In addition to the Red Cross, the fire brigades of Krumpendorf, Pritschitz, Klagenfurt and Pörtschach were deployed.
The 33-year-old truck driver from Bosnia was not injured.
