On the third day of the trial – murder of Italians: now the daughter unpacks

Date:

Crime 22 years ago in Sinabelkirchen (Styria): After a long silence, a Slovak woman sued her father on the third day of the trial.

Day three in the trial of the ominous murder of an Italian in Eastern Styria in 2001: As reported, the victim’s ex-girlfriend is on trial in Graz for allegedly ordering the murder of the then 47-year-old. In addition, an acquaintance of the woman, also Slovak, is in the dock – he is said to have been present when the crime was committed. The second perpetrator and another planner were already convicted in 2019 and are in custody.

The daughter of the suspect Slovak testified on Thursday. It was about a conversation that allegedly took place in 2012 between her and her father. Only a few months ago, after her father was arrested, did the woman turn to the authorities. “If I had testified earlier, I might not be here today,” said the Slovak. The neat blonde explains that her father was heavily addicted to drugs and that she intensively supported him in his rehab.

When he came out of a clinic in 2012, a long conversation followed. “He told me he has blood on his hands and now wants to start a new life,” the woman said. There was talk of “the thing with the Italian”. Her father gave no further details about the crime. He would do anything for the money, but the victim’s ex-girlfriend did not order this. The father said before this statement: “She is lying!”

Postponed to March
The fact that the witness would have a close relationship with the suspected Slovak raises questions about the motive for the testimony. In general, the connections between acquaintances and money flows in this case are extremely confused. Nothing came of the originally announced verdict for tomorrow, another important witness could not come this week. It is postponed to March.
