“Abandoned” – Disgusting: Floridsdorfer suffers from a mouse infestation

Date:

Whether dead or alive – an apartment in Vienna’s Floridsdorfer Aistgasse has been infested with small rodents for months. Not much happens – the resident feels abandoned by the neighbors and the authorities.

In themselves, they are slightly more popular than the big rats that like to scurry around in the cellars and metro stations of our city: the little mice. But what is currently happening on a balcony in the Aistgasse in Floridsdorf can safely be described as distasteful. For months, mice romped on Sieglinde B’s balcony. Most of the lady found were already dead and had to be thrown away with gloves on.

Is the neighbor blocking an effort?
But recently the Viennese even managed to take a snapshot of a climbing mouse. B. turned to housing ombudsman Michael Niegl and former district councilor Hans Jörg Schimanek. According to B., the property management sent an exterminator after repeated protests. But according to current information, he was not let in by a resident one floor above. Even the magistrate gritted his teeth. However, since pigeons are supposed to nest on the top balcony, those in particular could magically attract rodents.

MA 15 is likely to make a go-around
Sieglinde B. is now at the end of her strength. For months now, on the advice of the exterminator, she has closed all windows and balcony doors. The lady feels abandoned by her neighbors and the authorities. At the request of the “Krone”, the affected housing cooperative confirmed that they were aware of the problem.

It is known, it is said, that mice can enter the balcony of the apartment below through a neighbor’s balcony. The property management has informed MA 15. But the health service was also denied access by the neighbour. An effort will certainly be made to get the residents to cooperate.
