Did three women and a man brutally torture the defenseless residents of a nursing home in the Tulln district during the corona pandemic? In addition, the quartet faces the serious accusations of the public prosecutor. The suspects were questioned on Wednesday and Thursday.
The description of the prosecutor reads like a script for a horror movie. Three women (aged 33, 39 and 45) and a 36-year-old man allegedly massively abused several residents as nurses in the Sitzenberg-Reidling nursing home (Lower Austria) in the first year of the pandemic from March 2020 to March 2021.
The allegations weigh heavily: according to the public prosecutor, the quartet pushed, spat on and spat on patients and gave them too little to eat.
Difficult patients “anesthetized”
And it gets even worse: according to the indictment, they allegedly beat residents, snapped their genitals with their fingers or stuck the shower hose in their anus and turned on the tap. Difficult patients were “anesthetized” with drugs.
Two colleagues exposed the grievances
All four defendants pleaded not guilty at the beginning of the trial in the regional court of St. Pölten. “It’s not good,” they explained. Secure chats from the suspect paint a different picture. The second defendant appeased that they wrote “a lot of rubbish” to ease the frustration. Everything was blown up by the advertisement of two colleagues.
The four were immediately suspended. SeneCura has informed the public prosecutor of this.
There is a risk of up to ten years in prison
The trial continued on Thursday with the questioning of the suspect. If convicted, the suspect faces 10 years in prison.
