Sex workers, artists and employees of McDonald’s come to Ursula Kussyk. As a teenager she campaigned against injustice and today she helps girls and women who have experienced sexual violence. It is often about regaining control of one’s own life, says the head of the Notruf association in an interview with krone.at.
Ursula Kussyk mainly advises girls from the age of 14 and women who have experienced sexual violence. This could be unwanted touching, threats or actual rape. The occupations and ages of those affected are different, as is the range of social relationships behind it. One time it’s a stranger on the street, the other time it’s a friend she would never have thought of, whom she lets to stay and who suddenly asks for sexual acts. In other cases, masseurs, bosses, trainers, therapists or doctors are the perpetrators. Last year, the association cared for several patients of the same doctor.
