Salzburg responds – hotline as a measure against youth crime

Date:

The “Krone” reported on the gang problem in Salzburg, now the city follows: The mayor invites you to a round table.

When young people are warned not to walk alone through the old city at night. And if people are even afraid to report crimes, then the hat burns: “It can’t be like this anymore”, NEOS council member Lukas Rößlhuber was the first city politician to use the “Krone” reports about the youth gangs as an opportunity to take action and demand solutions.

Round table planned
Reason: the significant increase in aggressive and brutal violence by adolescent teenagers. Mayor Harald Preuner has now also responded and invites you to a round table next Thursday. Representatives of the Public Order and Welfare Office have been invited, as well as the youth and social spokespersons of all municipal council groups. A representative from the state police directorate will describe the “current situation,” the city manager explained. Measures and solutions are developed on this basis.

Reporting point for more certainty
In the interview with “Krone”, Preuner already talked about a possible idea: a hotline for those who, for example, have to walk through the city alone at night on their way home from work. By means of mobile phone location, the police can be alerted more quickly in the event of a threat during the telephone conversation. “It’s about the sense of security for young people,” says Preuner.
