Before the holidays comes the traffic jam – also this weekend: Drivers need a lot of patience on Saturdays, especially in the Innsbruck area: in addition to return traffic, there are again handicaps and traffic jams in the south. Especially for the construction site near Innsbruck-Süd. There is also a lot of alternative traffic here and there – there are no driving bans this weekend.
After the packed Whitsun weekend, another metal avalanche is rolling through Tyrol this Saturday. Again the greater area of Innsbruck is the hot spot. “From Völs/Kranebitten or Hall/Ampass it becomes difficult to go south. There it is called a traffic jam or very slow moving traffic,” the police said at the beginning of the afternoon.
Lots of tourist traffic on the Fernpassstraße. For the Füssen border tunnel, traffic is only allowed through in blocks. In any case, traffic on the B179 continues, albeit a little slower here and there. At the border at Kufstein there were no major obstacles for the time being.
No driving bans for replacement traffic
While there were driving bans for alternative traffic last Whitsun weekend, that is not the case this weekend. As a result, there are sometimes traffic jams and blockages on the lower road network.
In general, the driving bans apply to all motor vehicles in both directions from Saturday 9 July to Sunday 11 September from Saturday 7 am to Sunday 7 pm. Destination, source and resident traffic are excluded, the state said. The police will check this.
