A 31-year-old man fired an empty pistol in front of a tram in Vienna-Hernals on Sunday morning. Passengers were also threatened.
At around 10:45 am, the suspect caused fear and terror in tram line 10 at Güpferlingstrasse. Even before he got on the tram, he shot into the air. Inside he threatened a 75-year-old: if he came out, he would shoot him in the knee, police spokesman Daniel Fürst reports. He threatened to shoot a 29-year-old man in the head.
When police boarded the tram, the 31-year-old was still trying to get rid of the weapon. He was arrested by officers of the city command of the Ottakring police in the Bim. The stun gun was secured. The Austrian was taken to a prison.
