The Israeli government is calling for an end to rebel attacks on the Kurds, “a force of stability” for the Asian country.
Israeli authorities have assured that among the sites bombed in Syria in recent hours are facilities allegedly containing chemical weapons and long-range projectiles, after troops were sent into Syrian territory following the fall of Bashar al Assad’s regime.
“The only interest we have is the security of Israel and its citizens,” said Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. “That is why we have attacked strategic weapons systems, for example what is left of chemical weapons, rockets and long-range missiles, so that they do not fall into the hands of extremists,” he added.
Hours earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had ordered the military to complete the consolidation of control over the “buffer zone” created outside the occupied Golan Heights and the establishment of a security zone free of strategic weapons in southern Syria.
On the other hand, Saar has claimed the claim end of the “attacks on the Kurds”which he has described as “a force of stability in the country”, in the midst of the offensive by rebels backed by Turkey against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), just a few hours after the fall of Damascus and the flight of Al Assad.
