Four young people under the age of 18 went on a theft tour on Saturday. They allegedly not only stole items from parked cars, but also drove the cars around. The group was only stopped after a chase with the police.
It all started with a 17-year-old from Flachgau who illegally used a parked vehicle in Seeham with his girlfriend (13) from the city of Salzburg on Saturday night. The car would not have been locked and the key would have been in the ignition. The duo drove to Salzburg and picked up two other young people there, a 14-year-old and her boyfriend (15).
The four of them then drove to the Gmunden district in the stolen car. There, they first opened numerous unlocked vehicles and stole property worth hundreds of euros. They then exchanged “their” vehicle for another car, which was also unlocked. The old vehicle left the gang in Gmunden.
Dangerous driving maneuvers
Back in the state of Salzburg, a police patrol became aware of the four youths as part of traffic checks. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused.
Several dangerous driving maneuvers and excessive speed resulted, and accidents were narrowly avoided. After a brief chase, police stopped the car and arrested the driver. All young people have confessed to the thefts. Advertisement!
