While the Villach mountain rescue team had to rescue an injured toboggan, the helpers discovered a family of five. The three small children suffered from the freezing cold and also had to be rescued.
A 39-year-old was injured while tobogganing on the Dobratsch. A team of the Villach mountain rescue team went to the aid of the victim. After administering first aid, the rescuers brought the man down into the valley.
Freezing children discovered
During the operation, the mountain rescue team discovered a family of five. “The children suffered from the severe cold,” says the Villach mountain rescue service. Two small children were taken by the mountain rescuers on skis to Pogöriach, where a heated emergency vehicle was already waiting for the little ones.
Grandpa picked up the family
“The family was picked up a little later by the children’s grandfather and taken home,” says the mountain rescue service, which was on duty with eight men.
