On Tuesday afternoon, a truck left the road near Grödig in the Salzburg region of Flachgau. The driver should have been seriously ill beforehand. The semi-trailer broke through the barrier to the adjacent Alm Canal and got stuck there.
The incident happened on Tuesday around noon in Gartenauerstrasse at the Gerl company. The fire brigade was able to rescue the motionless driver of the semi-trailer from the driver’s cabin within a short time.
After resuscitation measures by the emergency services, the man’s heart started beating again. The rescue service then took the man to Salzburg University Hospital. The recovery of the heavy vehicle is expected to take several hours. The L104 between Grödig and St. Leonhard had to be closed completely.
