After the Pentagon announced this Thursday through its spokesman, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, that it had launched a so-called Chinese “spy balloon” which flew over the state of Montana (northwest of the US) announced the discovery of a new plane in the Latin American sky.

This last accusation has not received an answer by the Chinese authorities, who only released separate statements this Saturday to clarify the situation created by the plane flying over the US. Nor do the various official media mention the white flying object that flew over the Central American country, according to the newspaper La Nación de Costa Rica.

For their part, if a user performs a search on Weibo – equivalent to Twitter, censored in China – with Chinese characters for the words “globe” or “airplane” along with the term “Latin America”, only three publications appear on the announcement yesterday by American part

The discovery of the first of these “spy balloons” in US airspace has led to a diplomatic crisis between Washington and Beijing and motivated the suspension of the trip that Secretary of State Antony Blinken planned to make to the Asian country this weekend.

Beijing admitted on Friday that the balloon flying over the US is hers, though she assured that “it is a civilian airship used for research purposes, mainly meteorological“.

Following the announcement, China’s foreign ministry director Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with Blinken, asking the US “stay calmcommunicate on time, prevent errors in estimation and check differences”.
