Spectacular traffic accident Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean Stubaital. A motorist (38) went off the road at Fulpmes and crashed into the portal of an underpass. The force of the impact overturned the BMW. The man, who was in the passenger seat, suffered injuries.
The accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. in the Medraz district. The 38-year-old resident was driving the car on the Bischof-Knaus-Weg in the direction of the B183 Stubaitalstraße when she came out over the edge of the road in a left turn just before the underpass there.
Car stopped on its side
“The car first landed on the sidewalk and then crashed into the side wall of the underpass,” the police said. The impact caused the car to roll over and then come to rest on its side.
The 39-year-old husband in the passenger seat suffered a facial injury. After first aid at the scene of the accident, he was taken by ambulance to the clinic in Innsbruck. His wife escaped unhurt.
