A criminal with 29 fabricated identities has been arrested in Saarland, Germany. The 53-year-old man was wanted with an international and German arrest warrant for several crimes, including fraud and document offenses, police said on Tuesday.
“The man managed to evade police access for years because he had previously used a total of 29 different aliases,” said a police statement in Wadern.
Communication from the public
A tip from the public eventually put the police on the right track. The 53-year-old was arrested without resistance in Losheim am See – he was driving a car with French number plates.
During a house search in the area, the agents found, among other things, forged certificates with university degrees, which the man probably never took with him, and other forged identity cards.
