Shots were fired in the West Bank on Wednesday in an attempted arrest of three terror suspects. At least ten people were killed and more than 100 injured. According to the Israeli army, the troops came under heavy fire during the arrest attempt. They then defended themselves with more shots.
All three terror suspects were said to have been shot. According to the military, they planned and in some cases carried out attacks. Ammunition and weapons were seized from the building where they were hiding. Two of the suspects are said to have belonged to the armed group “Lion’s Den” and another to the Palestinian militant organization Islamic Jihad.
The other dead are believed to be Palestinians, including a 72-year-old and a 16-year-old. At least ten people were killed and more than 100 others were injured.
Repeated attacks
The security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories has long been extremely tense. Since the beginning of the year, nine Israelis and one Ukrainian have been killed in attacks by Palestinians. In the same period, 59 Palestinians were killed.
