The best pizza in the world is available at Millstätter Peppino. The restaurant has always been known for its good pizza. The Peppino boss himself has made headlines in recent weeks.
Pizza chef Paolo Monaco took first place in the Teglia (baking tray pizza) category at the Pizza World Championships (Campionato del Mondo di Pizza 2023) in Rimini on Tuesday! “I’m happy. He became world champion for the first time!” Peppino boss Stefan Lercher says happily. Paolo Monaco has been with Peppino for five years and has already taken part in several world championships. “He has already finished sixth, eighth and tenth – he was actually always at the top,” continues Lercher.
Lercher made headlines
Lercher has made headlines in recent weeks because he no longer wants to let everyone into his restaurant. “It’s about how the guests behave, I don’t have to take everything!”, the Millstätter maintains his opinion. And despite the crowds, people flocked to his house: “People are queuing and we can no longer serve everyone. There are only three of us, the lack of staff also plays a role,” says Lercher, who does not want to expand further.
He has also reduced the number of tables to eight and it should stay that way.
