Victims in the crisis center – girl (14) abused – father now in custody

Date:

After a father in Vienna assaulted his 14-year-old daughter with a lighted cigarette and a mobile phone charging cable, the Vienna regional court has now imposed a pre-trial detention on the man. The man is under investigation for continued violence and dangerous threats, according to Salzborn, the reasons for detention included the risk of committing and carrying out the crime.

This was announced by APA court spokeswoman Christina Salzborn on Friday. The father was arrested by police on Wednesday after the 14-year-old sought help at her school and turned to a teacher. The day before, a fight broke out at the home of the Syrian family after an uncle of the girl suggested she might have a boyfriend.

Father threatened daughter with rape
Believing that his daughter had fallen in love, the father must have completely freaked out. According to the current state of the investigation, he allegedly hit his daughter with a cable, kicked him, pulled her hair and burned her hand with a cigarette. He also allegedly threatened to kill the girl and rape her if she had a boyfriend.

When the situation escalated again on Wednesday and domestic violence broke out again, the girl ran to school. After reporting the abuse to the police, the 14-year-old was taken to hospital. The student is now in a crisis center.

Father in custody until March 10
The father – in the meantime he has received a burglary and approach ban and a provisional ban on weapons – partially gave in to his daughter’s allegations during his first interrogation. According to court spokeswoman Salzborn, he did not make any statements during the detention hearing. The pre-trial detention is legally in effect until March 10.
