Ukraine has issued a Banksy stamp to mark the first anniversary of the Russian invasion. It shows a motif (pictured above) that the world-famous British street artist left behind on a brick wall in the badly damaged Ukrainian town of Borodjanka near Kiev.
The stamp shows a child beating a large and seemingly overwhelming judoka. The tall man in the graffiti is said to be Russian President Vladimir Putin, who likes to brag about his black belt and judo suit. The child, also dressed in a judo uniform, obviously symbolizes Ukraine.
Queues of people in front of the main post office in Kiev
The new stamp was very popular on Friday: people lined up in front of the main post office in Kiev to buy it. Banksy, hiding his true identity, confirmed his authorship of the work in Borodyanka on his account on the Instagram online service.
