The Kutxabank Group ended 2022 with a net profit of 330.5 million euroswhich means 52.7% more than in 2021, after making a tax contribution of more than 430 million euros, to which the payment of the new tax on banks will be added in 2023. This result is 21.6 million euros lower than in 2019, before the pandemic.
As reported by the Basque Bank, it is “rootedness and dedication with the economic and social improvement of the area” have been completed with the 322.7 million euros received by the shareholder banking foundations (BBK, Kutxa and Vital) charged against the profit and reserves of previous years.
Kutxabank’s board of directors has also approved the proposal to reallocate a 60% dividend from the 2022 resultsa total of 198.3 million euros.
Kutxabank’s results have been presented by the President Anton Arriola and CEO Javier García Lurueña, in the context of the annual meeting of group managers, which took place this morning at the Kursaal Conference Center in Donostia-San Sebastián. The meeting was also attended by the presidents of the shareholder banking foundations and the members of the board of directors of Kutxabank and Cajasur.
Arriola has the capacity of the entity in dealing with the vicissitudes experienced during 2022, a year in which the war between Russia and Ukraine “has completely changed the course of economic forecasts, due to high inflation, which has put pressure on households and businesses and led to a marked slowdown in economic growth” .
