On Friday evening, the police in the city of Salzburg became aware of a car. It was parked in the middle of the track and no one was driving. A man in the passenger seat was clearly in trouble.
The traffic police discovered the car with active warning lights parked in the middle of the road in the Elisabeth-Vorstadt district. Only: the driver’s seat was empty. In the passenger seat was a 38-year-old Romanian citizen who confirmed that he had just driven the car.
Apparently the man had overdosed on drugs. Police alerted the Red Cross and the man was taken to Salzburg University Hospital for medical care. His health stabilized there so that he could undergo a clinical examination. The occupational physician of the Salzburg police headquarters determined that the person concerned was unfit to drive.
The Romanian’s driver’s license was temporarily taken away, he was not allowed to drive further, the car keys were taken away and a technical lock was put on the car.
