A woman ran away from the Burgenland police at breakneck speed on the S31 near Eisenstadt. Only after a wild chase did the handcuffs finally click for the 49-year-old woman from Burgenland…
Around noon on Sunday, a police patrol tried to stop a vehicle on the S31 near Eisenstadt because the car was speeding. But instead of following the officials’ request, the driver stepped on the accelerator. “Several attempts to stop the woman were unsuccessful,” said a police spokesman. The police officers therefore called for reinforcements and colleagues set up a roadblock.
Try to push off police cars
But the woman just sped past it and continued her journey on the S4 in the direction of Wiener Neustadt – with several police patrols on her neck. The driver relentlessly tried to push off the pursuing police cars several times.
Arrest, numerous complaints
The driver then drove onto the A2 in the direction of Vienna. The speeder was finally stopped at Leobersdorf in the Lower Austrian district of Baden. The handcuffs clicked on the spot with the 49-year-old woman from the Eisenstadt district. She refused an alcohol test. The officials took the driver’s license from the woman from Burgenland on the spot. It also ran ads for defiance of state authority, deliberate endangerment of the community and other traffic violations.
The management praised the “good cooperation” of the intervening officers, who, due to their sobriety, no one was injured and no vehicles were damaged.
