As it became known on Wednesday, the 71-year-old Austrian drove his car to the ski slope around 8.30 am on Monday. “Part of the ski slope has been cleared of snow due to an event to allow vehicles to continue to the gravel parking lot below,” police said. The night before the accident, there were snowdrifts covering the gravel road and the 71-year-old was initially unable to get through with his car.

When the man backed up the vehicle, the rear tire of the car rolled over the 74-year-old pedestrian. The injured person was taken to hospital in Zams. “According to current knowledge, the 74-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident,” the executive said.
