Christian Klar has been director of a focal point school in Vienna-Floridsdorf for ten years. Now he speaks openly about the many problems.
“crown”: Mr. Principal, you contacted me about a violent video of young people that was recorded near your school. I assume violence is a big problem for you.
Christian Clear: Violence by young people is a problem that comes from the daily life of children at school, it is not caused by school. The classic “just wait, we’ll see each other after school” is still around. Only today has it increased in ferocity. There are people filming and roaring. Today, the inhibition threshold is much lower. If someone gave up earlier, it was done. Today the following applies: If someone gets the chance, he really steps on it. Four or five against one is not uncommon these days.
