This is how it worked: Together with his American actor friend Rob McElhenney (“It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”), the Canadian acquired the club from Wales in mid-November 2020, which was teetering in the abyss of the fifth British division. The purchase price? Two million British pounds, the equivalent of 2.3 million euros. 98 percent of the 2,000 club members voted to take over from Hollywood. Reynolds: “Buying a football club is the most financially insane, nerve-racking and in every way insane thing I have ever done in my life. And I love every minute of it.”
